Front Croesus introduces the first skilling RuneScape boss

Jagex has revealed details of the Elder God Wars Third Front. After the Nodon and Glacor fronts, the newly announced Croesus front introduces the first-ever RuneScape skill of the boss. This means it will be the first boss to be defeated using the gathering skill, instead of fighting.

Those familiar with RuneScape may realize that technically this is not the first boss of the MMORPG skill. While RuneScape's main client never received any, the retro-inspired Old School RuneScape has a few. Likewise with Wintertodt, the main way OSRS players train the flamethrower. Given its popularity in Old School RuneScape, it was only a matter of time before the modern game got an equivalent.

Front Croesus

As the first head of RuneScape's abilities, Kresus presents ideas that have never been seen before. First, you can't die in combat. Although teams can lose if they don't deal enough damage with skills. The specific combat mechanics are still unknown and will remain a mystery until the boss is released.

Speaking of which, we have a release date. The Croesus Front will be added to RuneScape on September 27. This includes both the boss itself and the new skill nodes that can be found outside of the arena. There are knots for four skills: wood carving, fishing, hunter, and mining. They provide a low intensity alternative to training these skills at higher levels.

When it comes to rewards, defeating Croesus gives you a chance to get one of the many rare drops. Among them is the new armor set for the Tier 90 Magic tanks. While similar to Achto, the new Cryptbloom armor offers several additional effects to reduce damage taken. These armor effects are scaled based on the number of individual pieces worn.

Additionally, there are two new skills up for grabs. The Taggi Hammer Core is a level 80 in-hand mining which speeds up the mining of minerals when equipped. Offers + 10% Crit Chance and increases Critical Hit Damage to Rocks by 35. The other new hand is Frytorch Sany. It is used for Cutting Wood and offers a continuous improvement of the success rate of + 6% and a 1 in 5 chance of getting an extra Log.

An interesting side effect of both of these new skills is that they can be used to breed Splinter and Deathspore Arrowtips. These new arrowheads will be used to create level 95 arrows which should help the bows become more essential in the meta. Full details can be seen on the reveal blog, but needless to say, they are very powerful.

Those looking for high quality life items will not be disappointed. The new seed bag, which can be made from materials dropped by Croesus, can hold up to fifty different types of seeds at a time. Croesus Front also introduces the Rune Pouch upgrade in RuneScape, which includes four different runes and gives a 25% chance to save runes during battle.

And of course, what would the God Wars front be without a new Divine Book. This time around, we get Bik's Pismo, a skill-oriented pocket paper. If you use non-combat skills during training, there is a chance that a catalyst or a change will appear. Clicking this will increase your XP by 5% for one minute and will reward you with one to three randomly placed clue scrolls.
